Tutorials for Designing in Print

by admin on June 23, 2009

Secretly, in the backroom of nearly every of every print shop, there is a prepress specialist who bitches about the lack of expertise shown by most graphic artists/desktop publishers these days.

Actually, prepress specialists have been bitching about graphic artists for decades, so I shouldn't pretend this is a new thing.

Fact of the matter, most of our beloved customers don't know about about print, and they really can't be blamed for their ignorance. Training about designing for print, even basic knowledge about prepress is pretty hard to find on the web. Sure they could buy a book and read about it, but that would be one dedicated graphic artist, wouldn't it?

Fortunately, after a lot of searching, I did find a some print-based tutorials on the web. The tutorial9 guys have made a list of print-based tutorials. Consider linking to their site, or sending emails to your customers notifying them of the site.
