So last week we had one email account that would not accept email from one of customers. And of course that account happened to belong to the production coordinator/ops manager. Thanks, Google. We know the problem is only linked to that one account because we created another dummy account named Fred which DID accept email from that customer account. So the account of the ops manager is flaky, but you can’t delete and recreate it because you have to wait FIVE days before creating another account with the same name. Argh.
Today I got the report that a sales rep is getting mail on his Blackberry but it’s not showing up on his Outlook Express client. This stuff would be considered bumps on the road except it follows on the heels of the IMAP fiasco of the last two weeks, which freaked everybody out (To summarize: Do not use IMAP with Google Apps. It causes weirdness with Outlook clients).
So we are going to have a meeting about this. Man, nobody likes these types of meetings.

I love my google apps and have no issues with the integration with outlook. Not using outlook express but outlook full…
Yeah, most of the bumps in the roads have been smoothed over EXCEPT we have one client whose mail is not arriving consistently at our mailboxes. That is looking to be a deal-breaker.
Result of the meeting is that we have about one more week to see if this stabilizes but if we can’t get mail consistently from this client then we have to go to a paid solution.
