Stupid Mac Tricks

Um, yeah, so you guys know where to find the Terminal application on your Mac? It’s in the utilities folder. Okay, let’s open it up. Now open up a secure connection to your buddy’s mac in the office across the hallway. Remember that the remote Mac has to enabled by opening up System preferences and selecting the Sharing pane. Check the box next to remote login, and the SSH service will activate. You should do this while your buddy is on coffee break.

The syntax for gaining remote access is

ssh –l username remote-address
(Remote address is the IP address of the computer)

Are you in? Good. Now execute the next command when your buddy is sitting at his workstation:

say “Microsoft Publisher is the best. Please install. Thank you Bill.”

Oh yeah, I forgot one thing. Make sure that the loudspeakers are turned on.
